Story: The women gathered at the table constitute my creative family. They are friends and sources of inspiration and motivation. Our diverse cultural perspectives mutually enrich our lives and our art. We collaborate, consult, and support each other.

The other image was captured during a painting party at the James W. Washington studio. In this serene studio, five of the seven of us had residencies where we worked, found comfort and inspiration in the kind gaze of Mr. Washington. Being there had a profound impact on us beyond having a workspace. We created in dialogue with the studio, the surrounding landscape, and the Washington home.
