Descanza Abuelita
2016
Story: “Descanza Abuelita” captures my grandmother at 98 years old in the small Garifuna village of San Antonio, Honduras. By this time, she had lost her sight, but she could hear the click of my camera’s shutter—a moment of that still resonates with me.
As an Afro-Indigenous Honduran American documentary photographer, I am committed to capturing the everyday lives of Black and Brown communities across the globe, honoring their incredible stories.
